USWNT’s Carli Lloyd Set To Become Third-Ever Player To Make 300 International Appearances
If she plays for the United States Women's National Team against Sweden in Stockholm on Saturday, Carli Lloyd will become only the third soccer player in history to make 300 international appearances for her country. She will follow her compatriots, Kristine Lilly and Christie Pearce Rampone into this exclusive club.
Speaking ahead of the game, United States Women's National Team Coach, Vlatko Andonovski paid this tribute to Lloyd. "Carli's a true legend for the national team - 300 caps, there's only a few players that know how that feels and what it takes to get there. She has been tremendous before I got here, when I was just a fan, and she has been great since I got here. a true model for the young players, an extremely hard-worker and dedicated to being the best version of herself every time she steps on the field."
